Poem
I gather my thoughts
As I hang the phone
Back to go quiet again
I think of our conversation
And become somber
Because now I worry
Why , because I hear the pain
Pain that should have never
Been your pain
Pain that should have never
Been my pain .
But it was and it still is
And we did not know
Until it was to late
To ask , why?

Here Comes the Sun
The Encore of the Wind: A Poetic Composition by CMM (2024)
I have sat next to all the beginnings,
I have heard the rushing of the wisdom
coming from the sea.
The wind calls out the encore
against the rocks
and it is me…

A Day at the Library
On the way home from the library Stephanie stopped off to treat them to a cool refresher drink. By this time, the car had become very quiet. Kellan was in the back seat already deep in his book. Keagan was exploring his, and Aurora was reading away at hers, page after page. She suddenly looks up and says,
“My brain is too smart now, there is no more room,
because this is taking over!” —(as she looks at her book.)
Sometimes
only sometimes I
walk outside after dark,
Barefoot on
the cool soft grass
feeling the renewal come
from deep inside the earth
Replenishing tired feet
and calming the spirit,
the energy of nature …

Silence
What do you listen to while you work?
The sound of silence …
Or a whispered breeze
Or a sound of my pin oak leaves
Or an inspiration
That enters my head
It is the sounds that go quietly instead
With the sound of silence .

Narcissus Poem: The Murky Tow of Self-Reflection – CMM 2024

A reflection set, a glance,
mirrored back the soul,
as narcissus asks himself
will I ever grow old.
The water shivers and
and refuses to say.
He looks again closer,
insisting to know.
He slips and falls
into the murky tow .
