Stephanie
My Gaelic daughter,
A child of grace.
A spirited heart,
An angelic face.
Fears of a mother
Go ahead of her steps.
No greater joy,
Her pain is kept.
Walk among the clover,
Feed under the thatch.
Angels go as you rover .
A lassie of no match.

Autumn
autumnal Equinox gently arrives
warmth of the summer lost in the skies
Burnt orange and red are made of your dress
A sigh of relief now we will soon rest
From a summer of drought and too little rain
We will put it behind us; wait for seasons to change

Lost Pen
“There you are,” having fallen into helplessness,
confusions,
lost in the pile of life’s debri.
I pick you up, dust you off,
dear old friend,
but don’t leave again…
I smile down at my long lost pen.

Abyss
You held my hand,
and we walked in trepidation onto the precipice,
when the wind of uncertainty caught us,
as we lost our footing into the abyss.
Falling into jagged walls of truth
and uncertainty…
we landed finally into silence.
Searching, we were separated from the other,
waking in time,
looking up, I see you have managed to climb
onto the edge, watching and waiting.
Sadly, the stones under your footing
loosened by your climb
break into a fall.

Maverick
The modern-day lamb in stripes and stars
Lay in sacrifice of what should be.
He re-ignites the paschal-candle of brotherhood
and kindness in a country so dark.
darken from the light of goodness.
He poured from the receptacle of time,
and honor and devotion.
He lays the gauntlet of ‘moving-on’
In hopes others will follow.
