Hand Me Downs
I was the one who they called the knee baby.
Not sure why , I am the one in the cap,
I stood as tall as the rest of my siblings.
I always had an impish smile; they said.
Worn out pants handed down by someone.
I never knew we were not rich.
My Grandparents never ‘let on.’

Looking in the Pages
Looking through pages
the freedom of the past.
Before the virus
came so fast.
It will be gone;
just hope and pray.
It won’t be long
we will see a new day.

The Steps
We are not sure
We wait with uncertainty
We listen to sounds unheard
As the world still does not know
What challenges we face …
