Cicadas

Crackle in summer heat,

     wings that buzz

          in frenzy speed.

Flying into light or dark

     Trees amount

           and fallen weed.

Oh summer insect,

       oh bird of drought,

Your crescendo calls,

                                and in evening mounts.
