Two Divided

Standing in the portal of your passing,
I feel the breeze from yesterday—
A sweet breath keeps rhythm,
joy and sadness mixed intravenously
in hope and resignation;
a paradox of time and being
love and sorrow.
The sting is left against all will,
and two are divided,
Mother and child—
