A magenta glad opens;

Grace adorns in verse.

The long and hot sultry days

With sweaty runs and sweet ice tea.

I am not sure what

It is that draws me to the

LOVE of nature’s run.

I wake to see a

Crescent Moon hanging just above

I look in awe as I have done so often

Stillness as quiet as the sky is black

Yet the lovely light shines on .

I remember the light

In my grandmother’s kitchen

Something you notice,

then later you remember

how refreshing her presence.

Love at first sight

The old red barn

Has lost some charm

The bare cupboards

sound alarm .

As the day of plenty

Is now in the past

The smell of yesterday

Somehow still last

Handkerchiefs are gone

Crochet by hand

The tiny baskets

No longer stand

The apples still ripen

And the pears still fall

Mask are all worn

But not by all

Poets and artist

Will record this time

When people passed

And the need to be kind.
