Hunter’s Moon

I stepped outside the squeaky door

the shower from the full moon explore

As I did I climbed on the wind

Hung on the star light and start to spin

The whirling of the dusty fog

Rose above my head and tug

When light and moon and rays delight

Brought a new and mystical light

To all the planets and stars burst out

The moon and wind poured like a spout

Of dust and sparklers and moon rays

I wanted to ride throughout their stay

But no, the wind died down too soon

And I was left back looking at the moon

Morning Stars

I woke this morning and over my head

Hung glitter of stars while I was in bed

The dipper was titled just enough to see

The constellations spilled all around me

Stars hung so close to the morning sea

No beginning, no end from the stars and me

Among the Stars

   A Dream

white moons hang next to one another

bringing heaven’s presence and earthy observer

to notice…

Hanging like large bulbs lighting existence,

closer and closer they merge into one light

colliding …

looking across the way into the darkness

the moon dust falls light on a field of magnificent emerald

green elephants…

they move as though dancing without music,

gracefully they silhouette around the other

peacefully moving…

again I look upon the heavens and the moons

have separated again, white light emerging

toward the other…

cataclysmic they collide once again,

burst into a million stars

the heavens reflect…

A Lovely Star

What a lovely star I saw, just before the dawn,

large and bright in morning light twinkling out so far

I questioned if it was a plane and watched a while to see

it did not move this wonder star among the sky so darkly

I watched and thought, it could be one saying hi

One who passed on before, that now so far resides

I walked on for a while and relished in its light

Looking and watching and taking joy in Mars’ sparkling sight

I had to go back inside and get ready for the day

But I knew as the sun did rise, the star was never far away.
