Running with Pegasus

Mounting Pegasus under morning night,

we take to wings of running flight.

Among stars and constellations,

entered in morning night.

A falling star drops just ahead,

a silent wish is quickly said.

Into the mystic morning show,

Pegasus and I have nothing to dread.

Heralded by seagulls awaking,

the birds in faint light start taking.

To song and flutter as we pass,

all a part of the morning making.

This runner’s flight crossed into light

from a mystic morning flight.

Pegasus and I ride into red glow

dripping sun just in sight.

She and the Sea

Her soul needed refreshing

she returned to the sea

when the waves came, her troubles leave

her hair played with the wind

her smile swept across her face

she felt the universe give back her grace

early morning from darkness to light

rise into colors of orange, pink, reds

she nodded and watched, no words said

Her soul needed refreshing

she returns always to the sea

where the waves come, her troubles leave

The Path

Wet morning sand stick to my feet

while brown seaweed breaks into my path.

I travel to my beginnings toward the sea.

Watchful without pretention or notice

sounds of waves crashing and wind blushing

past me, as I step into the path.

On the shores morning and evening meet always.

Reflection of all time before me, and after me,

will continue long after my footprints are no longer

wet to my feet; deep into my path.

Midnight Sea

Midnight and the sea and wind plays just inside the moon.

Beacons flicker on the horizon to remind the sea the ships wait until morning light.

Unseen Artist’s brush sweeps white froth clouds  against a midnight sky.

The poet listens to the wind’s promise to bring a rain shower to lead the dance.

The dust of the day , the worry of tomorrow finds a journey into a healing crescendo.
