Haiku

full moon cloaks white clouds

Wind sways in celebration.

Oak tree leaves promise

Haiku

I climb hills to run

Trees beside the hot road sway

beckons endurance

Haiku

Just before birds sing

And daylight on horizon;

contemplation.

A stormy morning

Quiet through the troubled clouds

Nature is on display

“Walk Among the Brushes”

I hope you have time to read it.  I am humbled with this one as I do believe so much came from places I do not understand and psychologist are trying  to figure out.

Another Place

I walk upon the canvas

the gray and green elephants

walk around me.

Always in dimensional lights

of bright and then dim

the gathering of familiar faces

was all that I could see.

I look to see upstairs to find

and you were not there.

I continued down the stairs

the face of your adversary

standing fatter and pompous.

A distant call was hung into space

I heard the gritty sound of ignorance,

I heard the sound of disgrace.

I never saw but knew.

I asked this fatter one where,

where were you?

He turned to another and gave directions

I could no longer contain the pain,

as I beat upon his chest and

cried with years of disdain…

Midnight Sea

Midnight and the sea and wind plays just inside the moon.

Beacons flicker on the horizon to remind the sea the ships wait until morning light.

Unseen Artist’s brush sweeps white froth clouds  against a midnight sky.

The poet listens to the wind’s promise to bring a rain shower to lead the dance.

The dust of the day , the worry of tomorrow finds a journey into a healing crescendo.

Home Coming

img_1215I go to the ocean

To listen

I go to the sea

To find the lost me

I go to the shores

To hear the waves pray

wet sand caress my feet

The wind to lift my hair

I go to the place

My beginnings to renew

Whirling around me free

I have missed you my friend; the sea.

Intelligence

Intelligence

Einstein played with imagination and sought

deep in reason, deep in thought.

No one to match his statistical mind

no one dead or alive, so far in time.

Mozart’s fingers crossed over the keys,

giving them melody and symphonies.

Practiced till his days were long

celebrated now in concert and song.

Freud who delved deep in the mind,

knew he had found the perplexed kind.

The id, Ego, and Super Ego distinct

put them together, the missing links.

Yet we look for original thought,

seeking harshly by scientist wrought.

Brilliant in their ways of thinking

only disappear among the sinking.

What is to say, what is smart,

if we only finish with what we start?

Or apply what is already known,

moving an inch from where its grown.

Time and space and Neanderthal man

has carried history from where it began.

Intelligent mind and the brain has grown,

yet still with intellect so little is known.

He Came

As the chickadee finds its nest,

among the prickly leaf…

The labored Mother sighs

as birthing finds relief…

Then nature joins a chorus,

among the star they sing…

Humanity realized His birth

of the Resurrection King…

He came among the world

in quiet winter’s rest…

Chickadee without notice

continues to make his nest…
