Tom Sawyer

Tom Sawyer would be proud
Of the curiosity he shows
His wonder and discovery
A small rock he throws
Standing an looking
He thinks once more,
To collect another rock and
throws off to distant shore.

Ode to Autumn
I heard an owl outside my window
Breaking dark and morning flight
Then another answers soon after
Together harmony hooting quietA leaf is heard falling softly
Autumn speaks a gentle sound
Lagging song bird breaks the silence
And I am the only one aroundRustic red donned the tree tops
Top to bottom as they fall
Sweet farewell for winters coming
Leaving the trunk standing tallcopyright: CMM 2020
Running with Autumn

About the time
The geese took flight
The cold wind blows
And the whistle sounds
In early morning night

My Best
displayed are venders best
My run was a different quest
I managed to improve my race
shaved 2 min per mile pace

Autumn Wish

If you follow my blog
And I hope you do
I want to thank you !
Autumn has come
The leaves are turning
Covid 19 is still churning
Politics raging
Nothing to do
But vote, it depends on you
We will still wake
On November the 4th
We will still as people go forth
With a run and a prayer
And awaking to hope
Our people will survive and cope
Green and orange
River still flows
🏃♀️ Runners still forge and know
If we get up
And go on
The road is there
To make it a strong

Apple Farm

The old red barn
Has lost some charm
The bare cupboards
sound alarm .
As the day of plenty
Is now in the past
The smell of yesterday
Somehow still last
Handkerchiefs are gone
Crochet by hand
The tiny baskets
No longer stand
The apples still ripen
And the pears still fall
Mask are all worn
But not by all
Poets and artist
Will record this time
When people passed
And the need to be kind.

Crescent Moon

Sometimes I feel like Heidi.
The moon and planets meet me,
chilly autumn air, crickets scream,
leaves are browning autumn seen.
Sliding into a Midwest home run
when leaves will fall against the sun .
