Apple Farm

The old red barn
Has lost some charm
The bare cupboards
sound alarm .
As the day of plenty
Is now in the past
The smell of yesterday
Somehow still last
Handkerchiefs are gone
Crochet by hand
The tiny baskets
No longer stand
The apples still ripen
And the pears still fall
Mask are all worn
But not by all
Poets and artist
Will record this time
When people passed
And the need to be kind.

Crescent Moon

Sometimes I feel like Heidi.
The moon and planets meet me,
chilly autumn air, crickets scream,
leaves are browning autumn seen.
Sliding into a Midwest home run
when leaves will fall against the sun .

Running
I thought of all the places
I thought of many paces
over the years I ran
In hopes i always can
It has been me
My constant …

Our Moment
I was trying to run the hill
When stopped by waiting still
was a lovely deer curious of me.
And I looked closely to see,
the beauty of nature, a sight
a pause , and then took flight

Corn Moon
A short run under a full moon.
Foretelling of the Harvest Days
Fog and ghost in a purple haze
Winter chill will be here soon.

Infinity

I walk among ancient sands
Yet walk as if it was new
The winds blow at my side
And I only think of you.

Shadows

Only shadows seen
Many stories have I read
Of shadows to dread
However these are promise
Of the morning ahead
