Ode to Autumn

I heard an owl outside my window
Breaking dark and morning flight
Then another answers soon after
Together harmony hooting quiet

A leaf is heard falling softly
Autumn speaks a gentle sound
Lagging song bird breaks the silence
And I am the only one around

Rustic red donned the tree tops
Top to bottom as they fall
Sweet farewell for winters coming
Leaving the trunk standing tall

Crescent Moon

Sometimes I feel like Heidi.

The moon and planets meet me,

chilly autumn air, crickets scream,

leaves are browning autumn seen.

Sliding into a Midwest home run

when leaves will fall against the sun .

Our Moment

I was trying to run the hill

When stopped by waiting still

was a lovely deer curious of me.

And I looked closely to see,

the beauty of nature, a sight

a pause , and then took flight

Morning Rain

The moon wakes an early rain

The wind now sway with fall

I listen to the distant thunder

I listen to nature’s call…

Calming breeze crosses my face

And drops of rain keep gentle beats

Quiet darkness is broken with light

The blooms now permeate with sweet

Hope

Infinity

I walk among ancient sands

Yet walk as if it was new

The winds blow at my side

And I only think of you.

Fairy Dust

If you wake in the morning

while all the world sleeps

you will see the crystals of the fairy dust.

They were left during the night

To light their way

just in sight

as the moon bows

the twilight shows it’s veil

Sister

I woke to listen

to a long time friend; sister.

She is on her way

to the hospital today

to be at her husband side.
