Yesterday I spent a rainy day
With a cherished granddaughter .
We shared a cup
Of hot chocolate
It is the 4th generation of tradition
I pause in wonder …
Too many are denied .
I pray in thanksgiving .

right outside.
She gathered them,
cleaned them,
a bouquet she would make.
Then she would say,
” oh goodness sake.”
